Every Bride Needs A Bride’s Emergency Kit
A bride knows that her wedding is one of the most exciting and special days of her life. Many brides become obsessed with every detail, wanting those monogrammed cocktail napkins to be absolutely perfect (and why shouldn’t they be?). But things can happen on your wedding day, and it pays to plan ahead. That’s why every bride needs an emergency kit.
You can find cute “bride’s emergency kit”s sold in shops, and they probably can handle a lot of situations. But for the most part, you’ll probably feel more secure if you create your own. If you are a maid of honor or a bridesmaid, this also is a very thoughtful gift you can give the bride for her wedding day.
Here are a few must have’s you’ll want to put in the bride’s emergency kit:
Pantyhose or stockings for the bride
Breath mints, toothbrush, floss and toothpaste
Nail polish remover and the exact nail polish color the bride is wearing
A miniature bottle of the bride’s favorite perfume
This is a good start, and as you can see, all very practical items that can save you from that torn stocking or ruined manicure. These are very common “emergencies” the bride could face on her wedding day. But they aren’t the only ones. There are other things you’ll want to add that some brides or bridesmaids just might not think of adding, but can be very useful.
To create that perfect bride’s emergency kit, you’ll also want to add:
Aspirin, band aids, allergy pills and any other medication you think the bride might need
A list of vendor phone numbers including the officiate, limo service and reception hall.
Pantyhose and nail polish for that bridesmaid/maid of honor emergency. Remember that this can also stress out the bride tremendously.
Snacks or beverages while you are waiting in the limo or at the reception. It’s easy to pack granola bars, fruit or bottles of water.
So Basically . . .
The perfect bride’s emergency kit is packaged in something very portable that is easy to carry. Try to find that pretty wicker or plastic basket that suits the bride’s style but is also very practical. The bride’s emergency kit should look pretty and cute but most of all should be ready to be used for the day.
Most weddings go off without a hitch and everything happens seamlessly. But for that bride who discovers she is allergic to her wedding bouquet and needs an antihistamine, or the bride who needs to redo her manicure, or the bride who needs a new pair of stockings, your gift of a bride’s emergency kit could truly save the day. It will make your sister, friend or family member’s wedding day that much more special.
